Youth alcohol enforcement crackdown

DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - Dexter Police will join other law enforcement for the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" impaired driving crackdown May 5-16.

Lt. Joshua Benton says those who chose to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be arrested.  No warnings, no excuses.

Officers will be aggressively looking for substance-impaired drivers during the crackdown in efforts to make the area's roads and highways safer for everyone.

Lt. Benton says in addition to jail time and loss of license, DUI offenders also face higher insurance rates, attorney and court costs, and potential loss of job...not to mention personal embarrassment.

He adds, driving while impaired is simply not worth the risk.
