A Poplar Bluff man is behind bars after an armed robbery at convenience store on Main Street.
The Poplar Bluff Police Department arrested 46-year-old Timothy Johnson after he admitted to the robbery at JD’S Quick Stop on north Main Street.
Police say the incident happened before 9 p.m. on Feb. 8.
When officers got to the convenience store, an employee said a man, with what looked like a knife, demanded all the money in the register.
The employee gave the man the money and the suspect ran away into a wooded area behind the store.
Police later found Johnson, who matched the description given by the employee, hiding in the wooded area, holing money.
Johnson was taken into custody.
During an interview he admitted to the armed robbery.
Johnson is being held at the Butler County Justice Center.
