Mount Vernon police arrest man on outstanding warrants after traffic stop

MOUNT VERNON, IL (KFVS) - The Mount Vernon Police Department is reporting a man has been arrested on Sunday, Feb. 7 for having an outstanding warrant.

An officer with the Mount Vernon Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to signal at 12th and Jones.

The driver of the vehicle, Cameron K. Dunn, 23, was known to be wanted on a Jefferson County warrant charging him with three counts of unlawful delivery of a stolen firearm.

These charges stem from Dunn allegedly being involved in three incidents of selling/trafficking firearms in the Mount Vernon area.

The charges are the results of an ongoing investigations involving the Mount Vernon Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Joint Narcotics Unit and the ATF.

Dunn was incarcerated in the Jefferson County Justice Center. Bond has been set at $40,000.
