Two TN men arrested on aggravated assault charges

WEAKLEY COUNTY, TN (KFVS) -

The Weakley County Sheriff's Department is reporting two Tennesseee men have been arrested on aggravated assault charges.

Investigators from the Weakley Sheriff's Department began an investigation after Thomas A. Logan, 20, of Dresden Tennessee, and Matthew D. Mathis, 20, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, assaulted Robert Lange, 23, of Huntingdon, Tennesse.

Lange was hit several times and the two men continued to hit Lange while he was on the ground, resulting in a broken nose and a broken jaw, requiring surgery.

Thomas and Mathis then assaulted Benjamin Smith, 24, of Dresden, Tennessee, at the same party, resulting in a broken nose and a broken eye socket.

Thomas was arrested on Jan. 9 and Mathis was arrested on Jan. 18. Both suspects have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Both men will appear in general sessions court on March, 30.
