MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Three Mississippi County, Missouri residents were arrested in connection with a drug investigation.

Julius Devar Parham, 37, and Terri Nicole Mayabb Brown, 36, both of East Prairie, Mo., are each charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Stephanie Lynn Thomas, 25, of East Prairie, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began on Friday when the sheriff's department received information that drugs were being distributed by Parham from a Charleston motel.

When deputies responded to the motel, they talked to Parham, Brown and Thomas.

As deputies arrested Parham on a felony warrant from an unrelated matter, Sheriff Moore said they noticed several items of drug paraphernalia lying in plain sight throughout the room.

During a search of the motel, deputies allegedly found methamphetamine, money, digital scales and other items of drug paraphernalia commonly associated with the packaging and resale of various drugs.

After the search, the deputies arrested three occupants of the motel room and took them to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

In addition, Sheriff Moore said the trio also face misdemeanor charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

They are in the Mississippi County Detention Center on $50,000 bonds.
