Franklin Co. deputies arrest man in stabbing incident

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is reporting a man has been arrested after stabbing another man on Friday, Feb. 5.

Deputies were notified around 9:30 p.m. Friday by a third party that an altercation had occurred at a home in Logan. Deputies learned that the altercation was between Brian K. Long, 53, of Benton, and Mark E. McIntosh, 54, of West City. The caller reported that Long had been stabbed during the fight.

When deputies arrived at the house, they discovered Long was suffering from stab wounds to the back. He was then transported to a local hospital by ambulance where he remains in stable condition.

McIntosh was arrested and taken into custody. He is currently lodged at the Franklin County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Additional charges are possible, pending further review.
