Redhawks look to take down rival Racers on Thursday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri State University men's basketball team is looking for a much needed home win over Murray State University.

The cross-state rival dates back to 1931 when SEMO first beat MSU 37-29.

The Racers lead the overall head-to-head match up 54-19.

The Redhawks are looking to get back in the win column after falling to Austin Peay last week.

SEMO needs to string a few wins together if they are to have any chance at post-season play.

Murray comes into conference play at 5-4 and sitting just outside the top of the OVC West standings.

The Racers have had an up and down season and come in to play at just 11-11 overall.

The Redhawks and Racers will tip at 8 p.m. Thursday.
