UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Kentucky man is facing murder charges after he allegedly hit and killed a cyclist while driving.
On February 3, at approximately 8:26 p.m., Kentucky State Police received a call from the Union County Sheriff's Office requesting help with a car crash on KY 2091.
Troopers and detectives determined Steven Freeman, 22, of Morganfield, was driving his car and struck a juvenile operating a bicycle on Highway 2091.
The juvenile was flown to St. Mary's Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
Freeman was arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Union County Detention Center.
Detective Dilback continues the investigation and was assisted by the Union County Sheriff's Office, Union County EMS, Life Flight, Morganfield Rescue, and Whispering Meadows Fire Department.
