Paducah Parks Services announces first ever 'I Heart Presidents Day'

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The first ever "I Heart Presidents Day" will be on Saturday, February 13 at the Parks Services building in Paducah.

The Paducah Parks Services along with the Paducah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have organized this free event.

It will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is geared toward kids and families participating in presidential themed activities to celebrate Presidents Day.

Kids of all ages will learn about different presidents, early American culture, what life is like living in the White House, and make arts and crafts.

Some of the specific activities include making an Abe Lincoln log cabin and top hat, crafting a tricorn or mob cap, colonial dancing, taking a presidential portrait in costume, and writing a letter to the President.

There will be free snacks, candy, apple cider and gifts for every participant.

Presidents Day is also call Washington's Birthday and is celebrated on the third Monday of February.

The Parks Services building is located at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive in Paducah.
