This week in music: 1975

(KFVS) - Let's drop a couple of quarters in the Breakfast Show's juke box of memories.

This morning we check out the songs at the top of the music charts this week in 1975.

Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 had The Average White Band at number five with their disco instrumental Pick Up the Pieces.

At number four was You're No Good by Linda Ronstadt. She would take that song all the way to the top of the charts.  Believe it or not it was Ronstadt's only number one hit on the Pop Charts.

Stevie Wonder was in the number three spot with Boogie on Reggae Woman.

At number two was a signature song by the Ohio Players.  Fire is memorable for its use of a siren from a fire truck during the song's intro.

And in the top spot was a huge comeback hit for Neil Sedaka.  He hadn't had a major hit since 1962.  But, 13 years later he took Laughter in the Rain all the way to number 1. It also sparked a renewed interest in his music and led to a string of hit songs in the mid-1970's.

Those were the songs being played on the radio this week in 1975.
