SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (KFVS) - Southeast Missouri schools that offer "lock-in" events for Project Prom or Graduation are eligible to receive grant funding from the Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety.
The grants can reimburse schools for expenses surrounding event location rental, food, entertainment, etc.
Schools that qualify can receive up to $200 each for one of these special event nights.
Studies show that between prom and graduation, hundreds of students in the U.S. get into car accidents that have severe consequences, both physically and emotionally.
The coalition will be accepting applications until Mar. 19.
Applications can be obtained by calling 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or click here.
