MARION, IL (KFVS) - Spring is returning soon and with that the 9th Annual Southern Illinois Boat and Fishing Show will be held at The Pavilion in Marion, Illinois.
The show will be from February 5-February 7; it will begin at 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and then Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This free event will have something for everyone with thousands of people attending each year this show offers free admission, free parking and free seminars for the whole family to enjoy.
"They got all kind of activities for everyone, even the little ones to come out and enjoy," Bill Gottchalk with Harrison's Sport Shop said.
"From Oragomi out, Scentsy candles, to fudge, roasted almond man is going to be here, it's the first thing you smell when you walk in the door," CEO of Visit SI, Shannon Johnson said.
Whether you are looking to purchase that dream boat or just window shopping, the Southern Illinois Boat and Fishing Show is the place to be, with fishing gear, bass and pontoon boats along with jet skis and recreational vehicles.
""If you're not looking for a boat, you might find a Kubota, maybe you're looking for a tracker to get ready for the garden for this spring, or maybe you're looking for a toy hauler for camping. Or a four-wheeler or side-by-side," Johnson said. "Everybody has a different need and I think that this show in particular has something for everyone."
Helicopter rides will be offered by Black Diamond Harley Davidson. Proceeds from the event will go to Gum Drops NFP, which provides food to at-risk youth, and Youth Outdoor Educational Foundation which gives area children hunting and fishing opportunities.
