BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Butler County Sheriff's Department is looking for a woman suspected of stealing more than $1000 from a grocery store in Fagus, Mo.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs says 44-year-old Jean E. Sherfield aka Angelique Treet/Sheridan is suspected of stealing $1,100 from the Robinson McGiver Grocery Store in Fagus around 8 a.m. on Friday.

Dobbs says the store clerk was distracted with other store matters when the suspect stole cash that was being counted behind the main counter.

Dobbs says Sherfield left in a vehicle and led the store owner on a chase to nearby Campbell, but was not caught.

Sherfield is described as 5 ft. 8 inches, 160 pounds with blonde hair and numerous tattoos.

Anyone who spots her or knows where she might be is asked to call local law enforcement.
