64th annual 'All Ag Banquet' to be held at SIU

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Southern Illinois University Carbondale's College of Agricultural Sciences will honor students, faculty and others during the annual "All Ag Banquet."

The event, now in its 64th year, celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of those affiliated with the college.  

The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Student Center ballrooms.

A reception at 6 p.m. in the John W. Corker Lounge precedes the banquet.

The presentation portion of the banquet includes student awards for the outstanding junior student, outstanding senior student and registered student organization.

Two other major awards are the Donald M. Elkins Excellence Award and the Gary L. Minish Outstanding Advisor/Mentor Award. Both awards reward faculty or staff members who show dedication to education and mentoring.

The SIU Ag Alumni Society Board of Governor's annual meeting, held the same day as the banquet, is at 4:30 p.m. in room 209 of the Agriculture Building, which is open to the public.

The public and university community are welcome at the banquet.  

Tickets are $20 for non-students, and $15 for students. For ticket information, call 618-453-2469
