ISP responds to car crash in Du Quoin, IL

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

The Illinois State Police is reporting it is investigating a personal injury crash that occurred in Du Quoin on Sunday, Jan. 31.

The crash happened just after noon on Sunday. Police report a 16-year-old female from Du Quoin was driving east bound on Greens Market Rd. when she failed to yield at an intersection, hitting another vehicle driving south bound on US Rt 51.

The other vehicle was driven by Katherine M. Rice, 27, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, who had three other passengers in the vehicle. Two of the passengers were children between the ages of one and six. Both children were reportedly properly secured in the vehicle.

All individuals involved were transported to area hospitals and were treated for minor injuries.

The 16-year-old female was cited with failure to yield at an intersection. Rice was cited for driving without valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
