CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A 17 year old is in custody in connection to a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.
It happened on January 30.
According to the Carbondale Police Department, the victim was walking on East Walnut Street when a man approached him with a gun and tried to rob him.
The victim told police that two other suspects appeared and got into a physical fight.
During that fight, the 17 year old allegedly fired one round, hitting the victim in the shoulder who went to Pinch Penny Pub for help.
That teen has been arrested on charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm. He is in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation into the incident is still underway. Investigators are still working to identify the two other people involved in the fight.
