OLIVE BRANCH, IL (KFVS) - At 100 years old, Olive Branch resident Vera Jones is reminiscing about what has kept her young.
Jones celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday, Jan. 28, starting at the Kozy Korner, a restaurant she visits every day.
Ashley Swoboda, Jones' granddaughter, says Jones is known around town for mowing and keeping people's yards in tip-top shape.
According to Jones, the key to a long and healthy life is to buy a lawn mower and weed eater. She says it's hard work and keeps you active.
Jones hasn't been able to mow for the past few years. Her wish this year: to get on a John Deer mower again.
A celebration has been planned for Jones at the Olive Branch Community Building on Saturday, Jan. 30.
