GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man was arrested Wednesday in connection to DUI and drug charges after police found him asleep inside a car in the median of a road.
The arrest came after a passerby noticed a vehicle, operated by Patrick Hook, 40, in the median of St Rt 45 just south of Folsomdale.
The passerby checked on the vehicle to find Hook passed out behind the wheel.
This person then called police to report the incident.
When police got there, they found Hook still in the vehicle.
The deputy spoke with Hook, who seemed confused.
Hook was arrested after being given a field sobriety test.
While searching Hook, the deputy reportedly found a set of digital scales in his pants pocket.
The scales had a residue, which later field tested positive for methamphetamine, on them.
The deputy also found a plastic container with residue on it in the car.
This residue also field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Hook was later taken to Graves County Jail.
Once inside the jail, he was found to have two plastic baggies containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Hook was charged with possession of controlled substance in the first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, license to be in possession, reckless driving, DUI 1st and promoting contraband first degree.
