FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The state fire marshal has been called to investigate the cause of an early morning house fire in Franklin County, Ill.
According to the Zeigler Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to a home in a rural area outside of Zeigler on Route 149 around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The fire department says when crews got on scene the home was engulfed in flames and the roof had already collapsed.
No one was inside of the home when the fire started.
Multiple crews were called dispatched to the scene because the rural area made accessing water difficult.
The fire chief says no word yet on what caused the fire.
