MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The sun is partly to blame for a crash Wednesday afternoon in Lone Oak, Ken.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, 30-year-old Shanna Spann was driving south on Clinton Road near Lone Oak Pharmacy when her SUV dropped off the shoulder of the road, hit a culvert, and flipped.

Investigators say the glare from the sun was a contributing factor in the crash.

Spann was freed from the vehicle. Investigators said she initially declined medical treatment, but later went to the hospital to be checked out.

Clinton Road was blocked between Lone Oak and Goad roads for about 45 minutes.
