GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County will remain dry after a local option election on Jan. 27, 2016.
The Graves County Clerk reports 5,400 residents voted against allowing the sale of alcohol within county lines.
Of the 9,993 voters that participated in the election, 4,593 voted for the change.
The vote means the Mayfield Golf and Country Club will remain the only restaurant in the county allowed to sell liquor by the drink.
The county clerk reports this is the first time there has been a county-wide vote on the sale of alcohol since the early 1930s.
