MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

McCracken County Dispatch is reporting it received several calls of shots being fired in western McCracken County on Tuesday, Jan. 26..

Authorities said a passerby reported a vehicle that was stuck in a yard in the area of 7415 Joppa Landing Road. The occupants of that vehicle told the passerby they were being chased by an unknown Black Chevrolet Impala, and the occupants of that vehicle were shooting at them. Another 911 call came in about the same time reporting a hostage situation at 7415 Joppa Landing Road.

Sheriff’s deputies found the occupants of the vehicle down the road from the vehicle. Ben Croley, 29, of Illinois, and Brandi Scott, 25, of Paducah, told sheriff’s deputies several cars were chasing them, and the vehicles had several gunman in each.

Scott also reported that several gunman were hiding in the grass and had been shooting at them. The stories of the two became wildly inconsistent, with no physical evidence of any event actually occurring.

Through the investigation, it was learned that both Scott and Croley were under the influence of an unknown intoxicant.

Scott and Croley were arrested for public intoxication.

Scott and Croley currently are on felony probation out of McCracken County for methamphetamine manufacturing related charges.
