MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A 12-year-old was the only passenger to suffer injuries when a Paducah woman crashed into a tree on Monday.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the incident happened just before 5 p.m. as 29-year-old Teresa Tyler was traveling eastbound on Lovelaceville Road.
The sheriff's department says Tyler's vehicle left the road, traveled down an embankment and came to rest after hitting the treeline.
Tyler told the sheriff's department she turned left off of Hill Chapel Road and lost control of her vehicle as she thought she was breaking, but the car accelerated forward, veering off the roadway when the collision occurred.
A total of three kids were traveling in the car at the time of the incident.
Of the three, only one was injured. The 12-year-old was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
