Man arrested for DUI after wrecking in Graves Co.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reports that deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision at KY 58 East and Airport Road on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 4:50 p.m.

Andrew Weston, 28, of Arkansas, told authorities that as he was pulling his vehicle and trailer onto Airport Road, the vehicle and trailer became stuck in the snow and ice. Weston said he started flagging traffic because his trailer was still in the westbound lane of KY 58.

Teddy Sharpe, 58, told deputies he was traveling westbound on KY 58 East. Sharpe said he did not see Weston's trailer in the road because the sun was in his eyes. At that time Sharpe stuck Weston's trailer, causing the trailer to strike Weston.

Weston was transported by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Jackson Purchases Medical Center for minor injuries and was later released.

Sharpe was arrested for driving under the influence and was transported to the Graves County Detention Center.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Mayfield/Graves County Fire and Rescue and Gibson's Towing.
