CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Heartland Cooks is gearing up for Football's biggest Sunday with a simple dip recipe that is perfect for any get-together with a small or large crowd. KFVS-12 digital content manager Christy Russell shares her secret for success for any game day gathering, baby shower or Friday night get together. Your guests will come back for seconds and thirds! If you have a large crowd don't hesitate to double or triple the recipe. In Christy's experience, it's always the first dish to come up empty.

Recipe:

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage (browned and drained)
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 can tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel) drained
  • bag of tortilla chips

Instructions:

Brown and drain pork sausage.

Add browned sausage, cream cheese and tomatoes and chilies to a crock pot set on high. Stir to incorporate the sausage and tomatoes.

Cover and heat, stirring occasionally until cream cheese is melted and the sausage and chilies are well incorporated.

Grab a bag of chips and dig in!

*Depending on your taste, you can use spicy sausage or spicy tomatoes and green chilies.
