CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Police are investigating whether two alleged shootings in Jackson County, Illinois this week are related.
On Wednesday at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriffs Office received a report of shots fired near the intersection of Reed Station Rd. and Dillinger Rd. in rural Carbondale.
Deputies found evidence of several gunshots being fired into and from within a home.
A short time later, the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a home in rural Murphysboro reporting someone suffering from a gunshot wound.
Deputies and EMS personnel responded to the scene and discovered a 25-year-old male sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The preliminary investigation into these incidents suggests they may be related.
