ELCO, IL (KFVS) -

Fire crews responded Thursday to a home fire in Elco, Illinois.

According to Tamms Fire Department official Jesse Kerr, the fire department was called to a home in Elco at 12:54 p.m.

Firefighters found that a home was on fire and that the homeowner and children were away at work. No one was injured.

Officials say the interior appears to be a total loss.

Officials requested water support from Jonesboro Fire, an engine from Anna and a tender on standby from Dongola due to lack of adequate water supply in the township of Elco.

The Anna Fire Department responded for mutual aid, and helped Tamms FD put out the fire completely.

The fire is currently under investigation.
