CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Carterville, Illinois man is facing multiple charges after a crash in rural Carbondale on Wednesday, January 20.
According to Jackson County sheriff's deputies, they responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Reed Station Road and Clayton Road at around 2:35 p.m.
Deputies say witness statements and the on-scene investigation revealed that a grey 2009 Pontiac, driven by 18-year-old Sean Glennon, was going northbound on Reed Station Road at a high rate of speed when it hit a 1999 Jeep Cherokee from behind.
Katlynn Slightom, 22, of Carlinville, Ill., and her passenger, Benjamin Hutchcraft, 22, of Ewing, Ill., were in the Jeep.
Deputies say all involved were treated on scene by the Jackson County Ambulance Service for minor injuries and all refused transport to the hospital.
They say both vehicles had significant damage and were towed from the scene.
Glennon was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, possession of cannabis and driving under the influence.
He was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he posted bond.
