CAIRO, IL (KFVS) -

A second suspect in connection with a shooting that took place on Jan. 19 in Cairo, Illinois was arrested on Friday, Jan. 22.

Lamont Young, 22, was wanted on charges of first degree attempted murder and home invasion.

According to Police Chief John Bosecker, Alexander County Sheriff Tim Brown caught and arrested Young near the Cairo Airport. Young was believed to have been holding up somewhere in Cape Girardeau.

The Cairo Police Department, U.S. Marshals and ATF were actively searching for Young. He was considered armed and dangerous.

Police also had a second suspect in custody on Thursday.

Chief Bosecker said Deloyd Davis was shot five or six times during what appeared to be an attempted robbery.

Police say it happened at a housing project on Elmwood Place around 9:30 p.m.

One of the gunshots grazed Davis' head. He is currently in critical condition in a nearby hospital.

Police are still investigating whether anything was stolen during the robbery.
