CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Have you heard of FAFSA? It stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Southeast Missouri State University is one of the hosts of the free statewide event in which 10 financial aid professionals will be on hand to help students and parents complete the FAFSA online.
FAFSA Frenzy is slated for Sunday, Jan. 31 in Dempster Hall on Southeast's main campus from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
All students who plan to attend college in the fall of 2016, regardless of the institution, are eligible to participate and will have their names submitted for a state-wide scholarship drawing.
Those attending should bring a copy of their 2015 W-2 forms and copies of their 2015 tax forms, if they're ready.
If students and their parents have not yet filed their 2015 returns before they attend, they should bring any statements of interest earned in 2015, any 1099 forms, and any other forms required to complete their taxes.
This will allows students and their parents to submit their FAFSA online during the event.
They will need to go back to the FAFSA and submit corrections once their tax returns are filed.
