A Paducah man has been arrested for allegedly possession stolen items and weapons as a convicted felon.

Over the past two months, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division have conducted an investigation into the possession of stolen firearms and other stolen items.

During the investigation, detectives obtained evidence that Corey Leonard, 23, of Paducah, Ky., had possessed firearms while being a convicted felon and also possessed stolen firearms and other stolen items.

On January 8, the case against Leonard was presented to the McCracken County Grand Jury.

The grand jury ultimately indicted Leonard for possession of firearm by convicted felon, receiving stolen property/firearm, receiving stolen property under $10,000, and persistent felony offender.

On January 15, 2016, Leonard was spotted approaching the McCracken County Courthouse by Deputy Dylan Cook.

Cook knew Leonard to have active warrants for his arrest due to the indictments, and placed him under arrest.

Leonard was lodged in the McCracken County Jail for the above charges.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges and arrests are possible.

Detectives are still actively seeking related stolen items.
