Anna, IL man sentenced 5 years for aggravated stalking

ANNA, IL (KFVS) -

Union County officials announced Friday that an Anna, Illinois man was sentenced to five years in the prison after stalking an ex-girlfriend and violating an active order of protection.

Chance S. Cottone, 46, was found guilty of aggravated stalking in September 2015, by a Union County jury following a three day trial.

Cottone engaged in numerous acts of harassment in April 2015 directed at his ex-girlfriend including repeatedly driving by her place of employment and her home and contacting her through Facebook, all in violation of an active order of protection.

He was arrested in May 2015 as part of an investigation by the Anna Police Department.

 Cottone will also serve a four year period of mandatory supervised release.
