POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - A Poplar Bluff man is facing charges for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Stanley Preston Jones was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 13, when multiple agencies were servicing Grand Jury Indictment warrants in the Poplar Bluff area.
Officers were led the 200 block of Kaylee Circle when they smelt a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home.
When investigators were speaking with Jones, he admitted to recently smoking marijuana and allowed officers to search his home.
As officers were searching the home, they found a felony amount of marijuana, marijuana candies, and drug paraphernalia.
Jones was later arrested.
He was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jones was released to his attorney and the case is under review by Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Barbour.
A Preston Jones is listed as an orthopedic surgeon on Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center's website.
Dawn Carrier, director of marketing and public relations at the medical center, said they "cannot comment on current or former employees."
