ISP offers winter weather driving tips

ILLINOIS (KFVS) - With winter weather in the forecast, roads could get slick this week.

Illinois State Police District 13 handled 17 crashes because of the slippery roads last week. Two of the 17 were personal injury crashes.

Not only do ISP want people to slow down when conditions are tricky, they also want you to plan ahead.

Have extra coats, blankets, gloves and hats, high energy food, and water in your vehicle.

Also, always travel with at least half a tank of fuel, check antifreeze levels, washer fluid levels, and make sure your car is ready for the road.
