Now that you've bought your Powerball ticket or tickets, how are you keeping them safe?
Lottery vendors in the Heartland are seeing a boost in business as the jackpot continues to grow.
The Powerball payout is at $1.5 billion as of Tuesday night.
Steven Majeed, owner of SEMO Gas, said he’s seen more customers than ever before. He attributes that to the record jackpot.
"People are going crazy. We are getting people from all over the place," Majeed said.
Vendors don’t profit directly from lotto sales, but rather other purchases people make while in the store.
"Even if they are buying a lottery ticket they are walking around and moving and looking what we have and then most of the people come back and they make another purchase," Majeed said.
Majeed said businesses can receive up to $50,000 for selling the winning ticket as well.
