KSP issues 'Golden Alert' for missing Daviess Co. man

OWENSBORO, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police Post 16 Troopers have issued a “Golden Alert” for a missing Daviess County man.

William D. Knott, 79, is described as a white male, approximately 6’01”, 180 pounds with brown eyes and white hair. He was last seen wearing dark jeans and a gray jacket.

Knott was last seen leaving his residence in Owensboro driving his 2008 silver Ford Fusion sedan bearing Kentucky vehicle registration 594-HVJ.

Knott left his Owensboro residence around 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9. A family member was able to make brief contact with Knott earlier via a cell phone and Knott said he did not know where he was. Knott reportedly suffers from dementia. His phone is no longer in operation.

Police are asking if anyone sees or has any information on Knott’s whereabouts to please contact Kentucky State Police Post 16 at (270)-826-3312 or your local law enforcement agency.
