Ballard 4-H Clubs wants Mallard Duck as Kentucky's official waterfowl

The Ballard County Elementary School Fourth Grade 4-H Clubs is sending a resolution to the 2016 Kentucky General Assembly to name the Mallard Duck the official State Waterfowl of Kentucky.

State Rep. Steven Rudy has told group members that he will present the resolution on their behalf. The letter they’re sending explains, “We have been studying Kentucky Government, state symbols and how a bill becomes a law in social studies and our 4-H Club meetings.

We would like to submit the above resolution as part of our educational learning process.”
