Giant City Nature Trail encouraging mothers to hike with children

MAKANDA, IL (KFVS) -

If you have a baby and like to hike, then you might want to considering heading to Giant City State Park on Sunday, January 10.

Park volunteer and mother, Nicole Allen, will trek the one mile Giant City Nature Trail with baby in tow.

Nicole will be hiking a new trail each month and is encouraging parents with babies to join her.

Hiking trails will range between one and two miles and are moderate. This is a non-interpretive program designed specifically for outdoor recreation.

Baby slings are encouraged as trails are not stroller friendly.

The hike, which is free and open to the public, runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on January 10.

Please register by calling 618-457-4836.
