Injury collision in McCracken Co. involving cyclist

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies report they were dispatched to an injury collision on Benton Road near Hoover Street on January 6, at approximately 6:17 p.m.

When deputies arrived on the scene, a preliminary investigation showed that Joshua T. Mosley, 21, of Paducah, was traveling eastbound on Benton Road on a bicycle with no lights. There was no street lighting on the roadway on Benton Road at that location.

Mosley told deputies he was riding his bicycle on the shoulder of the roadway outside of the fog line. He said that a vehicle, possibly a white Chevrolet truck, was traveling the same direction and hit him. Deputies recovered several bits of black plastic from the scene that was possibly from a mirror shroud from the truck.

Mosley was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service for non-incapacitating injuries.

He was cited for no lights on a bicycle.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating the truck that was involved in the collision. The driver might not have been aware of the collision. The vehicle is being described as a white 2004-2006 Chevrolet extended cab truck. It may have damage to the right passengers side mirror.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Kyle Seratt was the lead investigator in this collision.

The sheriff’s department was assisted on the scene by Reidland/Farley Fire/Rescue and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
