POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

A former Poplar Bluff, Missouri mayor and councilwoman passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2 after a months-long battle with melanoma cancer.

Angela Pearson, 32, was the youngest female mayor named in Poplar Bluff.

Before that, she was a councilwoman for Ward 1.

Visitation for Pearson will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7 in the funeral home chapel.

Internment will follow at Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Mo.
