Two people in custody following East Prairie burglary

EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) -

Two people are in police custody following a burglary in East Prairie.

Officers were called to 314 Davis Street on Sunday, December 27. They found two televisions, some Christmas presents, and various household items also including knives missing from the residence.

After some investigation, police found the two suspects in Charleston. Floyd "Roc" Tucker, 27, of Charleston and Kristi Krauss, 26, of East Prairie were arrested on several felony warrants, not pertaining to this case, and have also been charged with burglary in the second degree.

"The victims were targeted because they were involved in a terrible accident and were not in town but recovering in a St. Louis hospital from life threatening injuries." Captain Douglas said. "After investigation, it was learned the residence was burglarized on Christmas night and had been watched for several days. It is a sad situation for the victims because not only did they suffer from a tragic incident but to be burglarized while fighting for his life on Christmas Day is horrible."

There are several other suspects and more charges pending.

East Prairie Police Department is thanking Charleston DPS officers for their quick response and cooperation in apprehending the suspects.

One of the stolen televisions was recovered.
