First Alert Forecast shows cold, mostly cloudy day

First Alert Weather Outlook:
Déjà vu...Your Wednesday will look a lot like Tuesday did. We’ll wake up to a chilly, cloudy morning, and those clouds will stick around for the day. Don’t expect it to warm up too much. Highs will likely only reach the 40s. First Alert: New Year’s Eve still looks dry, but cold.

Making Headlines:
Barge hit: Inspectors will be looking for damage when the sun comes up after a barge hit the Ledbetter Bridge overnight. Floodwaters are likely what pushed the tow into the single in-water pier.

Water rescue: A couple in Jackson County is safe after being trapped in their home by high water with no way out. With the help of the Pomona and Somerset Township Fire Departments, Murphysoboro firefighters brought the Antrim family and their dogs to safety.

Flooded roads: A long list of roads remain covered with water this morning. A heads up for people expecting to travel through Wickliffe, KY using US 51: the highway will likely close because of high floodwaters meaning motorists will face about an 80 mile detour thorough Southern Illinois.

Earthquake: A moderate earthquake shook an inland area of Southern California near San Bernardino on Tuesday night. There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries, however.
