WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Interstate 57 is back open after a semi hauling propane crashed in Williamson County Sunday night.

Ronnie L. Farris, 54, of Paris, Tenn. was driving a 2007 Freightliner pulling a 1968 tank trailer southbound on I-57.

Farris told Illinois State Police he hit a bump in the road near the 52 mile marker and lost control.

The rig jack knifed and hit a crash cushion at the edge of the road. The trailer separated from the semi and rolled onto its side.

The trailer with propane was not breeched, but as a precaution nearby homes were evacuated.

I-57 was closed until about 2 a.m. Monday.

Farris had minor injuries. He was cited for improper lane usage.
