MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

McCracken County deputies were dispatched to the 4500 block of Old Mayfield Rd for a report of a single vehicle collision with injuries on Sunday, Dec. 27 at approximately 3:56 pm.

A preliminary investigation showed that Timothy Clark, 26, of Paducah and his passenger, Rachel Clark, 24, of Paducah, were traveling south bound on Old Mayfield Rd.

As the vehicle approached the 4500 block, Timothy Clark reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

After doing so, the vehicle, crossed the center line, exited the opposite side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle went airborne where it began to roll.

When the vehicle again made contact with the roadside it continued to travel a short distance before colliding with yet another embankment, sending it airborne again.

The vehicle rolled at least one more time before coming to final rest near a roadside wood line.

Both Timothy and Rachel were transported to a local hospital by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service for treatment of their injuries.

One lane of Old Mayfield Road was closed for approximately 15 minutes for cleanup.

The Sheriffs Department was also assisted by Randys Towing and Hendron Fire Department.
