Fire Destroys Jackson Home

Jackson, Missouri - A state fire marshall tells Heartland News the blaze is ruled accidental and that it started on an outside porch.

The Jackson fire chief says the fire started around 8:30 this morning on Dotty Street.

Although all six people inside made it out on their own, fire fighters still had to pull off a smaller rescue. At least three dogs and a guinea pig were rescued from the home.

Friends of the family say they lost nearly everything. A fund has been set up to help:
