McCracken Co. car crash sends two to hospital

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A driver and his passenger suffered injuries during a car crash near the Five Star in McCracken County Monday evening.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened on John Puryear Drive around 9:13 a.m.

The sheriff's department reports, 28-year-old Terry Babb, of Paducah, was attempting to turn left onto John Puryear from the Five Star parking lot.

Babb reportedly failed to see 36-year-old Israel Phillips, of Ledbetter, who was traveling south on John Puryear Road.

The sheriff's department reports Babb said was he was already in the travel lane when he saw the other vehicle approaching.

Phillips told deputies he braked to avoid the collision, he skid, and was unable to avoid the accident.

The sheriff's department reports Phillips and his passenger, 43-year-old Andrea Futrell, of Paducah, were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
