One person died in a early evening rollover crash Monday, December 21.

Crews from the West McCracken County Fire Department along with the Concord Fire Department and Mercy EMS were called to the accident in the 12000 block of Highway 286 around 8:36 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators say the driver had been headed east on Highway 286 when they ran off the road, hit a driveway culvert, then went air born and landed in a yard. Deputies estimate the car, a 2009 Chevy Malibu, traveled about 550 feet before landing in the yard on its side.

Emergency crews tried to help the driver, but he died of his injuries at the scene.

The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Zachery Pyatt of Greenfield, Ill.

Highway 286 was closed for about two hours while deputies investigated the crash.

Pyatt was the only one in the car at the time of the crash.
