CHAFFEE, MO (KFVS) -

A Heartland school is doing its part to help feed hungry families for the holidays.

Volunteers packed and delivered Angel Food Boxes in Chaffee, Missouri on Monday, December 21.

Each box contains turkey, potatoes, stuffing and all of the fixings for a traditional Christmas feast.

A teacher we talked to said the students of the St. Ambrose School are showing a real commitment to help others.

"Considering we started our vacation on Friday at the end of the day they are back here this morning to help and are very happy to be helping and working together," third and fourth grade teacher Jody Grim said. "They are a good group of kids who like to work together as a family and help other people."

The principal of the school said Angel Food Boxes started in 2014 after a parent wanted to get the school involved with giving back to the community.
