Man accused of rape, sodomy, arrested in Du Quoin

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

An arrest warrant for a man accused of sodomy, kidnapping, and controlled substance violations was carried out in DuQuoin on Friday.

According to the Du Quoin Police Department, 57-year-old Michael Dean was arrested around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 18.

Dean was wanted for an outstanding warrant in Calhoun County, Ill. according to Calhoun County State's Attorney Richard Ringhausen.

Dean was originally charged with attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse in that county.

Dean also faces charges in Dunklin Co. Missouri, where he is accused of kidnapping, sodomy, and drugging and raping three men.

According to court documents, Dean was in a Du Quoin bar, which violated a condition of his bail that ordered him to not enter "any establishment whose primary source of revenue is the sale of alcohol."

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department issued the arrest warrant, which was carried out by the Du Quoin Police Department and Perry County Sheriff's Department.

Dean posted an $8,000 cash bond and was released.

An appearance date has not been set.
