FIRST ALERT: Dreary, wet Monday on tap; watch out for wet roads

It is Monday, Dec. 21, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Grab your umbrella and rain coat because a dreary Monday is on tap, according to Brian’s First Alert Forecast. Rain overnight will clear out this morning, but most of the Heartland can expect lots of clouds, with highs in the 50s. There's also a chance for a shower or two later in the day.

Making Headlines:

Under investigation: The State Fire Marshal is working to determine the cause of an overnight fire at a home in Johnson County, Ill that left one man dead. When firefighters arrived to the home on 4th Street in New Burnside, the home was engulfed in flames. 

Wanted man: The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated in hopes of locating a man in connection to a shooting at a Sikeston liquor store on Saturday. Investigators are looking for Antoine A. Harris-Applewhite who is wanted for murder charges.

Deadly crash: The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car crash that killed a Gorham man, and injured another. According to the sheriff's office, both men were ejected from the car when the driver missed a curve in the roadway.

Behind bars: A woman intentionally swerved her car onto a busy sidewalk outside a Las Vegas casino, killing one person and injuring at least 30 others, police said. The woman is being questioned by police.

What's trending:

Viral mistake: The Miss Universe winner for this year is from the Philippines, but for about 3 long minutes Sunday evening, it appeared Miss Colombia had won. Announcer Steve Harvey apparently announced the wrong winner.
